Back!

i guess my blog should be dead and buried by now but since i'm dam free now so i shall attempt to keep it alive,at least not without trying.

My life these days revolve around coaching, tennis, soccer and slacking, basically i'll be doing one of the things at any second of my life.Sounds boring but i think not, first i will start with coaching.

I have started coaching swimming and took up school assignments and at the same time being attached to a swim school which i have my own class to teach.Teaching can be boring and sometimes annoying but when ur kids come up and say thank you to u becoz they feel they have improved with the pointers u give,it can be very satisfying. As a coach at this level,i would say our objective is not to make our kids swim like michael phelps but rather be a competent and strong swimmer.I always try to incoporate fun in lessons but sometimes it's not as easy becoz everything u do is under the scrutiny of the parents,as parents, they pay to let their kids learn swimming and not to have fun but as kids, they want to have fun,so i'm caught in between but i always believe swimming should be a fun thing and not something of a burden to the kids.

After coaching for sometime now,i feel i have changed my coaching philosophy a bit,i used to think that swimming is so easy and why kids just cant learn the proper strokes and techniques, but habits are hard to change and it is what i am working on with my students.I hope to teach them the correct things and hopefully with more experience,i will become a better coach.I have also learned to be more vocal and stress on key points not just asking them to swim aimlessly,i take different approach against different age groups and i think it works. As coaches,we need to be flexible at what we do.

Tennis, how is tennis part of my life?Well,i picked it up when in poly,at that time i feel i have the necessary talent and i picked it up quite well but i never thought of continue playing as i do not have friends who plays tennis so i just brushed it aside until i discovered a forum in SG filled with tennis enthusiast, then i start to play again and from there i improve by playing with different people and now i can safely say i'm quite good at it,not exactly like federer or my idol, robin soderling's level but at least i can serve, rally and volley decently enough.I love playing singles becoz i have control of things on the court whereas in doubles, sometimes u just cant have the same influence and control in a match but i am starting to love doubles now becoz it improves my volleying and it's more tactical than singles, also,i do not have to cover so much court!

Anyway, playing tennis and meeting different ppl has been a good experience for me,although not everyone that i met is pleasant but speaking for the majority,i think they are all great ppl.

Slacking, this is my favourite and can be my worst enemy. At times,i am so busy, everyday i am out and i wish i have time to slack but sometimes i just don't have anything to do,i will feel very very bored.I can't walk around my house as comfortable as i used to now that i have a maid, like now,i wanna change water for my fish tank but becoz she is ironing the clothes near the fish tank for the past 3hours,i cant change it.Aw man!

Okay,i think its getting too long.I am bored this week becoz its school holiday and there's no school class to teach but luckily i have US open. The match between Federer and Soderling will be shown tmr morning.WAHAHA...i cant wait to see it.=D
